How much gas do I have left?

When you lift the lid of your tank you will see a round gauge about 2” in diameter. The needle will point to the amount (percent, not gallons) you have left.

Propane Safety

If you smell gas, immediately put out all smoking materials and any open flames. In addition, do not operate any cell phones, land line telephones, appliances or lights as sparks or flames from these devices may cause an explosion or fire. If you smell propane that you think might be leaking, you need to immediately leave the area and get everyone out of the area or the building where you suspect that gas might be leaking.

Once you leave the area, you should try to shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank, once it is safe to do so. Once you've exited the area and are safely away from the source of the propane gas smell, you should report the leak from a neighbor's house or other nearby location by calling Franconia Gas immediately.

  • If you can't reach your propane retailer, call 911 or your local the fire department immediately.
  • DO NOT re-enter the building until your propane retailer or the fire department has determined that it is ok to do so.
  • Have a qualified service technician from your local propane retailer check your entire system and any of your propane appliances to make sure they remain leak-free before you attempt using them.
